Senior Systems Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
Design, commission, and build BAS databases and graphics in a safe, conscientious, and professional manner while striving to exceed our high-end, commercial customers’ expectations. Assist in providing project management and leadership within the BAS Department. Follow professional development plan to accomplish individual goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, service, and implement BAS systems
- Oversee setup and installation of BAS components and ensure proper setup of end devices
- Report status of BAS projects to Systems Coordinator and Systems Supervisor
- Perform network setup and troubleshooting (IP, RS-485, etc.)
- Perform Point-to-Point verification of I/O
- Provide technical support to BAS team
- Provide excellent craftsmanship and quality of work
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including the proper use of PPE
- Coordinate and maintain company-issued tools and equipment
- Complete accurate timecards, service activities, and inspection reports
- Regularly communicate with team, Systems Coordinator, and Systems Supervisor
- Regularly communicate with jobsite point of contact regarding arrival, progress, and departure
- Other duties, as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience as System Specialist or equivalent experience
- Associates degree, or equivalent experience and training
- Demonstrate effective leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Proficiency with BAS communication protocols and BAS software; our current platforms include: Tridium Niagara AX and N4 Workbench, Distech GFX, Honeywell Spyder Tool, and Johnson Controls CCT/PCT
- Experience with Lonworks and/or BACnet Control Systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of IP networks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with troubleshooting low-voltage systems
- Advanced technical and problem-solving skills
- Vast knowledge of HVAC equipment, including but not limited to boilers, chillers, packaged units
- Ability to read and understand mechanical plans and drawings
- Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams
- Experience with low-voltage wire installation, and ability to differentiate types and colors of wires
- Provide basic hand tools, i.e. screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, etc.
- Self-sufficient, while maintaining team structure

- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends, as needed
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 years of registered driving history
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to lift and maneuver large, heavy equipment, parts, and tools, weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work on ladders, lifts, and from high elevations
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work in extremely hot and cold climates
